Earth Medicine
Deepen your connection with the earth and yourself through direct engagement with the natural world.
The land knows you, even when you are lost. - Robin Wall Kimmerer
We are not separate from nature; we are nature. Yet, the disconnect from our own bodies and the Earth has become one of the greatest sources of human suffering and polycrisis in our modern world. At Skyroots, I believe that human healing and the healing of the natural world are intricately connected. Through herbal consultations and ancestral earth-based practices, I offer vital pathways to slow down, repair this fractured bond, and cultivate a conscious relationship with the living world.
Herbal Consultations
The plants have enough spirit to transform our limited vision.-Rosemary Gladstar
Through herbal consultations, I partner with you to reawaken your innate embodied wisdom and connection to the natural world. My approach integrates herbal health support and education with mindful, earth-based practices that can be easily woven into the rhythm of your daily life.
In our time together, we will identify areas of physical, emotional, and spiritual dysregulation that invite attention and care, creating a holistic roadmap to restore a sense of deep nourishment and vitality. Central to this work is the invitation to work with a 'plant ally'—getting to know a specific herb or tree intimately over time, rather than just as a resource to be consumed.
This might look like a daily meditation with a tree on your commute, sipping rosemary tea as a morning ritual, or simply pausing to connect with a wild dandelion growing through the concrete cracks outside your door. Not only can these practices help transform us personally, but also contribute on a collective level to forming new paradigms that can shift us from a mindset of extraction to one of sacred relationship and kinship with the Earth.

Earth-based Meditations
I deeply believe that our mental and physical health is strongly tied to our connection to the earth and our sense of belonging in the world. I offer earth-based therapy rooted in mindfulness for both individuals and groups, on zoom and in-person outdoors. In an increasingly fractured world, reconnecting with nature can ground us to our self and at the same time expands our sense of identity beyond ego identification, to all living beings. By slowing down to notice the numerous ways the earth meets us and nourishes in any given moment, we can begin to abandon the false belief that we are separate from others and nature. Through guided mindfulness practices such as feeling the ground beneath our feet, leaning against the trunk of a tree or holding a weighted rock in the palm of our hand we can begin form a more intimate relationship with the world around us. For many of us, it is through this awareness and remembrance of these natural living supports where our healing can truly begin.
Herbal Meditations
Additionally, I offer herbal meditations where we work with individual plants through tea or tincture form as the main anchor of our meditation. Utilizing all of our senses, we will commune with a different plant ally each time we gather and attune to the specific physical and energetic medicine that each herb holds. Over time, this deep listening and attunement can help shift us into a more direct relationship with nature and all of life and break the myth of our aloneness.
Earth-based Ceremonies
Additionally, I offer earth-based ceremonies where we will co-create personally meaningful rituals for significant life transitions and passages or for helping to move stuck emotions where traditional talk therapy has failed. Ceremonies may be rooted in the four directions (air, fire, water, earth) by symbolically working with related materials such as feathers, a candle, shells or flowers. We may also choose to create earth-based art or mandalas made of natural materials found in nature such as sticks, flower petals, rocks or pine needles, imbuing our creations with healing intentions. Sometimes, the simple act of slowing down to create and play in the seemingly ordinary yet magical world around us, can be potent soul medicine.
